I have taken a huge leap of faith in pursuing a new career in the art of textiles.
I design and sew a line of unique aprons, using recycled and vintage materials; from linen to denim, to costume jewelry and buttons. I have both full and half styles, all are fully lined, many are reversable and all are machine washable.
In addition, I make a line of felted wool hats from 100% recycled wool sweaters. They are lined, often in contrasting/complementary colors and patterns. They will fit most adults. I have a cloche, fedora and cap style. I will have fresh inventory at the end of summer 2009.
Because I am such a yard/estate/thrift sale enthusiast, I often find myself in need of large tote bags in which to carry my treasures. To that end, I have been working on oversized totes, using recycled denim jeans and skirts, karate belts, men's ties, patchwork and applique, each one unique. They are double-stitched and durable enough to handle most anything.
I have a new line of cotton turbans called "Fun-doo Rags" which can be used by women who have lost their hair due to chemo or alopecia. These are currently being offered in Mariposa Treasure Chest in Mariposa, CA. Please contact me if you are interested.
